Good production is about more than just knowing how to ‘make a hit’. It’s about constantly, invisibly shifting roles to fill gaps and provide help wherever it’s needed to make a song as good as it can be.

That can mean driving the music towards perfection, or making sure it doesn’t become too perfect. It can mean pushing the artist beyond their comfort zone, or making them comfortable with what comes naturally. It can mean honing the arrangement of a song, or arranging studios and budgets.

After years learning personally from some of the biggest producers on the planet, and working with just about every genre of artist, I’ve learned far more than just tricks and techniques. I’ve learned about good judgement. My aim is to act as a guide, helping the artist avoid the pitfalls and discover just how good their music can be.
